Gameplay
Life in the fast lane
Drift, boost and blast if you want to become a motorised espionage expert. In Cars 2: The Video Game, you need to be swift and streetwise to beat the best on the global stage.
When the lights turn green, squeeze the R button to step on the gas and launch into a perilous chase through city streets. Use the analog stick or the directional buttons to switch lanes to grab the best racing line or avoid obstacles – with careful timing you can even leap over hazards to leave close rivals facing a certain pile-up.
Power-ups and bonus items scattered around the track can be found by taking shortcuts. Use these to fill up your energy meter, and, when it is maxed out, your In the Zone ability kicks in giving you the twin benefits of a turbo boost and an impenetrable shield that's perfect for smashing past enemy racers.
Whether you're screeching around corners, dodging lethal obstacles or leaving enemies choking on your exhaust fumes, Cars 2: The Video Game is a non-stop spectacular to be enjoyed by budding stunt drivers of all ages.
Multiplayer
Mirror, signal, outmanoeuvre
Speed demons and dangerous drivers fill your rear-view mirror in Cars 2: The Video Game on PSP. Look a little closer to home to identify your nemesis when you challenge up to three friends to a race using your PSP system's Ad Hoc Mode.
Choose from any of the Free Play modes and become king of the road. Attack and Battle Race see weapons and hi-tech spy gadgetry deployed out on the track, turning the race course into a trail of destruction. Eliminator and Against the Clock events, meanwhile, crank up the pressure by removing the agent in last position and pitching you into a checkpoint battle, respectively.
Be prepared for a bumpy ride, as twisting circuits and hidden shortcuts add a splash of unpredictability to the action. Your opponents will want to smash you out of contention by ramming or blocking you, so you must always ensure your energy meter is topped up so you can disappear into the distance and up the C.H.R.O.M.E. chain of command.
